Child Protection – tough sentencing for offenders
Evin is a proponent for the introduction of tough mandatory
sentencing for child sex abusers for rape, molestation, and
the production, distribution and possession of images of the
sexual abuse of infants and children (child pornography). He
works closely with other advocates on campaigns that benefit
children and highlight this injustice
He rejects outright culturally acceptable child abuse –
beatings, education deprivation, marriage of child brides;
their subsequent rape and impregnation, female genital
mutilation, rape as a weapon of war, the rape of boys in the
Arabic and Persian Middle East
(Man-love
Thursdays). He vigorously supports programs that
bring basic human rights to every child.
Guardian ad Litem
Evin is a long-time volunteer Guardian ad Litem in the 15th
Judicial Circuit in
West Palm Beach,
Florida, where he focuses on severe child neglect casework.
Guardians represent the interests of abused, abandoned and
neglected children in court. They investigate cases with a
court order and, under the protection of the court, provide
the judge with a report of findings and recommendations for
the child. In 2006 he was awarded the Guardian ad Litem of
the Year for his circuit.
Awards
In 2009 Mr. Daly introduced the One Child annual Child
Advocate awards which recognize the exceptional work done on
behalf of children by individuals and groups (see
awards).
In 2009 he and One Child were awarded the ‘Junny Award’
by Protect our Children Inc., in
Florida, for their efforts with Child AbuseWatch.
Media
Mr. Daly writes frequently on abuse topics and is a sought
after source, and resource, in the media on child
abuse-related subjects. He has been interviewed and featured
on TV, satellite and commercial radio, and print media
world-wide. He ensures that One Child International and
Child AbuseWatch truly follows its mantra of ‘speaking out
for those who can’t – children.’
